Where has the time gone?
Last week was a blur......again! I don't know where my time goes! I'm going to have to sign up for the 7 daily habits! Remember when we all carried time management books? I need one hung around my neck! Auditors, City Officials, Home Owners, Co-Workers, Branch Presidents,
and an ex-husband....I delt with them all last week! The Auditors will officially be in the office tomorrow....we are so ready! City Officials - they paved the entrance/exit road to my community this past week and closed the residents out....I spent a couple of days with the two cities....our road is the divide between American Fork and Pleasant Grove. What an exercise in City Government..... I've now been asked to sit on the budget committee of American Fork City. What's with this????? I'm trying to retire! Homeowners....I'm on the HOA Board and it's time to prepare for the yearly budget meeting in November. I get problem solving calls day and night from people who just want a little inside track information. The HOA is on the back burner until I get back from Michigan....a few days before the meeting...whew Co-Workers v.s. budget cuts. Everybody has a situation and they want to share their worry load. Branch Presidents.... I have a new calling..... Branch Weekly and Monthly Newsletter Editor! I do spread sheets well....BUT now I will learn to do newsletters....new skill! I'm afraid Summer will have the baby before I get there......and the stupid antics of an ex-husband...... Quite a full week! Next Week will be new and fresh! Ya Gotta Love It! Life is Full!

Another Week, BUSY!
I can not believe how busy life gets! I've heard it said, that as we get older there are fewer hours in a day..... I really believe it's because it takes longer to get things done. I'm still working thru the sting of budget cuts, but think it's about solved. Next week AUDITORS, and I "think" I've got it covered. Last year was ugly, but because of that, I took extra care to make this year better. Conference weekend was great! I went with Shawn and his family to Axtel. Kaitlin was in her first college play and we saw that Saturday evening. She did a great job. Snow has a great theater department, and I'm sure the whole community came out as well as parents---and grandma's. We watched conference and enjoyed the country life. In two weeks I leave for Detroit to welcome my 21st grandchild! Can you believe that! It would be sweet if she had grandma's red hair. October is breast cancer awareness month! It's great to be alive!

Last Week
If I'm consistant..... I can keep updated...
Last Week was busy....
Monday: Found out the legislature needed to cut funding, short fall in revenue. Because of the economy people weren't spending and the state tax base was less than expected. Less housing starts, less purchases, and of course more lenders in trouble..... Utah doesn't borrow money to cover state expenses.....therefore cuts. On Monday we were asked to cut 5%....by Friday it was 7% and NO one time promised funding...... Went to Family Home Evening....
Tuesday: Started thinking about where to cut expenses at work.... still thought it would be 5% cut....it would be hard, but could do it....... Went to an Art Film with friends in Murray "Take"
Good film - lots to think about.
Wednesday: Still stewed about funding cuts.... it appeared it might be less than 5% Education was going to get a break...later found out it was Public Education....Not Higher Education.... and the state mandated no increase in Tuition!
Thursday: Funding Cuts......Now the Legislature has taken away our one time funding monies that we use for equipment....a couple of hundred thousand dollars (by the way I always spend these monies in start up monies for the new school year - so they're already gone) and the cuts are back up to 5% in additional funds. Our general funds are disbursed in quarterly payments from the state..... I'm almost down to nothing for the quarter ending Dec 31, 2008....I also get a notice that next year funding will be cut also. I go an institute class in the evening with friends.
Friday: The funding issue hits the fan! 7% drop in funding, 0 one time equipment funding, roads and public education are held harmless, there is hope that roads will go to bonding. No tuition rise permitted.....They didn't say we couldn't raise fees...... Got some monies tucked away, but don't want to operate bare boned...... Monday I will look at every employee, and make some serious decisions.......no more purchases, no more frills, no more small classes. AUSTERITY!
I left work and helped Shawn & Tonna with grandma duty.
During the week because of the stress level - we ate a lot of Chocolate - which kept me up at night..... I also got two books read during my waking hours AH THE LIFE OF AN ACCOUNTANT!
Saturday: I paid HOA bills, did laundry and went to dinner at the Lion's Beehive House in Salt Lake and Women's Conference at the Conference Center....back home by 9:00 p.m. in time to talk to my Mom.... AH THE LIFE OF A DAUGHTER!
Sunday: Today my ward splits into two wards.....looks like I'll be released from the Relief Society Presidency.....
